Precision DAQ Solution based on NI-sbRIO

SpecialtyCircuits LLC started as specialized solution provider in instrumentation control business. In a very early product, we encompassed the need of mass spectrometer control, specifically ion trap mass analyzer. 

In the very beginning of SpecialtyCircuits's endeavor of creating a niche data acquisition product, a precision timed triple channel analog in and out board was conceived. The primary target use case was to drive ion trap mass analyzer at high accuracy and stability. At the end the application is not limited to ion trap control. 

Highlights:

  1. Two analog outputs with 50MSPS 16-bit DAC.
  2. One analog output with 1MSPS 20-bit DAC <5ppm INL.
  3. Ovenized voltage reference for extremely low temperature drift.
  4. Three analog input with up to 2MSPS 20-bit ADC <5ppm INL.
  5. Temperature coefficient <5ppm/K.
  6. Digital control by NI-sbRIO providing FPGA programmability without the need of Verilog/VHDL programming knowledge.
  7. Example FPGA program supports single-cycle timed loop on LabVIEW FPGA platform, supporting >80MHz clock rate. 
  8. Example FPGA program supports SPI bus >40MHz clock rate.
  9. Example FPGA program supports multiple I2C buses.
  10. RESTful interface over Ethernet for higher level customization by customers.

Customization Capacity:

  1. Other DAC with SPI or parallel interface, such as AD5791, DAC10001, etc.
  2. Other ADC with SPI or parallel interface.
  3. LVSD interface cannot be supported due to limitation from NI-sbRIO.
  4. Other voltage reference options such as LTZ1000, ADR1000, ADR1001, ADR1399, REF80 etc.
